With the 2025 Wanda Diamond League season looming, several key notes and updates have been released. Excitement is quickly building and as we look ahead towards the end of this month, there are numerous things that track and field fans should be aware of.

Grant Holloway Is Confirmed For Xiamen, Shanghai and Silesia
We were aware that Grant Holloway was confirmed for the first two Wanda Diamond League Meetings, but last week Holloway also confirmed his upcoming attendance at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia, Poland on August 16.
A Stacked 100m Field Is Set For Shanghai
Early last week, we discussed the full field for the 100m in Shanghai. Christian Coleman, Kishane Thompson, Marcell Jacobs, Akani Simbine, Letsile Tebogo, Xie Zhenye and Jeremiah Azu are all confirmed for that 100m battle. It could prove to be one of the most exciting races of the early 2025 season.
New Bibs In 2025
The Diamond League will use pinless, printed bibs on jerseys during meets this season. These were previously used at 2016 and 2017 Prefontaine Classic and 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
300m Hurdles On Tap For Xiamen and Oslo
World Athletics announced last week that the 300m hurdles will be will be recognized as an official event in 2025. The event will be featured at the Xiamen DL (April 26) and Oslo DL (June 12).

A Long Jump Clash Is Heating Up For Rome
Mattia Furlani will take on the Olympic Champion Miltiadis Tentoglou at the Pietro Mennea Golden Gala Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rome on June 6. Furlani just secured Gold at the 2025 World Indoor Championships, and took bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The two will rematch in Rome.
Other notable entrants for the Wanda Diamond League Meeting in Rome feature distance stars Nadia Battocletti and Beatrice Chebet. They are expected to toe the line in the 5,000m.

What Is The Diamond League Schedule For 2025?
The 2025 season will be the 16th edition of the Diamond League, and each meet typically features six or seven events for each gender, with each discipline being contested between four and seven times during the season to allow athletes enough chances to accumulate points.

- June 12 – Oslo, Norway

- Aug. 16 – Silesia, Poland
