PUMA MILE TO MAKE ITS BIG RETURN TO THE MT. SAC RELAYS...

PumaMile

On Friday, April 20th at 7:00 pm, the PUMA Mile, a popular crowd favorite returns, but with a very special twist.  The ‘twist’ being the goal of treating the always appreciative Mt. SAC Relays Crowd to a sub 4 minute men’s mile and to an equally impressive sub 4:30 mile on the women’s side.  The PUMA Mile is a “classic” race aimed to celebrate the spirit of competition and long standing tradition of the 4 minute mile.

PUMA will be offering a total of $10,000.00 in prize money to the first three finishers, in each PUMA Mile race, who cross the finish line in UNDER the 4:00 standard for men and the 4:30 standard for women.  Third place runs away with $1,000, second place $1,500 and first place will pocket a cool $2,500.

If only two finishers break the time standard, the remaining 3rd place $1,000 prize will be split between them.  If only one finisher runs under the standard then he or she will receive the entire $5,000 pot for that race.

PUMA will also be bringing additional fun to the Mt. SAC Relays with social games like ping pong and foosball for spectators/athletes, as well as a T-shirt customization center, photo booth and fan zone.

Join us on Friday, April 20th at 7:00 pm when the assault on the 4 minute mile begins!

Special Note to PUMA Mile Participants:
· All participants will also be timed electronically at 1,500 meters for an ‘en route’ 1,500M time to the mile.

· The 1,500M time in the results is valid to use for Olympic Trials or IAAF Standard qualifying.

· We have an “elite” 1500 race in addition to our “elite” mile should you prefer to run that distance.

· The official times and places from the race are from the final results (not the clock in the stadium).

· The Mt. SAC Relays reserves the right to make final determination of all entrants participating in this race.

· It is the responsibility of all collegiate participants to check NCAA rules and regulations concerning your participation in this race.

· American crowds love a sub 4 minute mile….we hope you can help us give them one!
