1. The men's 110m hurdle final was a big race for Aries Merritt who ran a huge personal best of 12.93 to break the 13 second barrier and put himself as #8 on the all-time list in the event. Merritt led the field with Jason Richardson behind him in a time of 12.98 and Jeffrey Porter with a 13.08 to round out the Olympic spots. A surprise in the race was David Oliver, the bronze medalist in Beijing not making his second Olympic team. Oliver finished 6th in a time of 13.17.
2. Allyson Felix made a huge statement today in the women's 200 meter final with a big personal best of 21.69 to win the final. Felix's time puts her in the #4 all-time position in that event and beats her previous personal best of 21.81.
3. It was men's triple jump domination for World Champion Christian Taylor. Taylor jumped a mark of 17.63m to punch his ticket to London along with William Claye who jumped 17.55m for second place.
4. Men's 20,000 meter race walk: Trevor Barron of NYAC started the meet off right with an American record and a meet record in the men's 20000 meter race walk this morning. Barron walked a time of 1:23:00.10, which beat Tim Seaman's previous American record by 40 seconds. Since Barron was the only athlete to hit the Olympic A Standard time of 1:22:30.00, he will be the only competitor to represent the US in London.
5. The women's high jump final was a a big day for Chaunte Lowe who jumped a height of 2.01 to win the event and also get the meet record which was held by Louise Ritter with a height of 1.99m. The American record holder secured her spot on the Olympic team along with Arizona superstar Brigetta Barrett and Amy Acuff of Asics.
