2. Bolt Makes Olympic History, Jamaican Sweep!

Usain Bolt made history today as he won the 200 final and became the first man in history to complete the 100-200 double at two consecutive Olympic Games. It was a season's best for the Jamaican who ran 19.32 and was followed by fellow teammates Yohan Blake (19.44) and Warren Weir (19.84). 2011 World Champion Blake would have been the only man to seriously contend for the gold medal against Bolt, but the "beast" will have to settle for another silver in these Olympic Games.

5. Montano Sneaks a Spot in 800 Final

It was a close call for US 800 star Alysia Montano after her fourth place finish in heat 2 of the women's 800 semi-finals. Montano took the field out fast as she usually does, but she was caught on the backstretch by Caster Semenya, Elena Arzhakova, and Janeth Busienei who edged her out for the automatic qualifying spots. By the end of the semi-final heats, Montano could breathe a sigh of relief as her time of 1:58.42 would get her in to the final on Saturday.
