The Armory Collegiate Invitational will feature the top collegiate programs in the nation that will clash later this season at the NCAA Indoor Nationals.
Armory CEO Dr. Norbert Sander said in an earlier statement, “The Armory is excited to be partnering with Flocasts and Flotrack this indoor season. We have a partner to invest that ensures these great meets get out to the widest audience possible.”
On the men’s side, four of the top six nationally ranked teams in #1 Arkansas, #2 Florida, #3 Texas A&M, and #6 LSU will make the trip to the Armory to compete.
These perennial champions are not without their standout leaders. The men's 400m championship will feature seven athletes who have run under the 46-second barrier: Deon Lendore from Texas A&M (45.13), Aldrich Bailey from Texas A&M (45.19), Errol Nolan from Houston (45.28), Caleb Williams from LSU (46.61), David Verburg from George Mason (45.06), and Bryce Spratling from Pittsburgh (45.82).
One marquee event to watch will be the Men’s Distance Medley Relay (DMR). In the DMR, the University of Oregon will travel across the nation to go up against Brigham Young University, Villanova, Stanford, Arkansas, and Columbia in an effort to secure a top sixteen spot for NCAA Nationals. Last season, BYU lead the NCAA in the DMR with a time of 9:29.00.
The women’s field boasts even more programs vying for the national title. Seven of the top ten teams in the nation will compete in what should be a thrilling two-days of competition. #1 Clemson will defend their top slot against #2 Kansas, #4 Arkansas, #5 LSU, #6 Texas A&M, #7 Florida, and #10 Iowa State.
The prominent names in the women's field will also shine in the Big Apple. The Clemson Tigers are lead by NCAA 60mH record holder Brianna Rollins and Dezerea Bryant, who is number two in the nation at 60m. Bryant will go up against LSU's Kimberlyn Duncan, who is ranked right behind Bryant in the #3 spot. Arkansas look to regain the number NCAA rank in the 4x400m through their anchor leg and NCAA leader in the 400m, Regina George.
Not to be outdone by the sprints, the DMR on the women's side includes ten teams that all have the ability to qualify for nationals with an outstanding team performance this weekend.

Traveling west to the University of Notre Dame, two days of track and field action will also be broadcasted live from the ND Meyo Invitational.
Notre Dame track and field head coach Jim Piane said, “We’ve been with Flotrack for what seems like forever and what they do for track and field is unprecedented. It helps not only meets like ours, but it helps the sport.”
The invitational, which is entering its 26th year, welcomes elite teams and competitors from around the country. The meet is highlighted by two distance events that drawn some of the best talent in the NCAA. The Meyo Mile was established in 1988 and has seen numerous sub-4:00 marks over the years while the Ryan Shay Men's 3000m is named after the former Irish athlete who passed away in 2007 during the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials.
Those will be the two events that you cannot miss. Texas Tech University’s Kennedy Kithuka, the 2012 NCAA cross country national champion, will look to secure a top NCAA ranking in the men’s 3000m. The Meyo Mile, which has had eight sub-4:00 miles in the last four years, will hope to continue its tradition of barrier-breaking marks through Indiana's Andy Bayer, who placed 4th in the 1500m at the 2012 Olympic Trials.
Both events will be able to be viewed live with a Flotrack Pro subscription. Fans can sign up here or go www.flotrack.org to learn more.
