WADA to launch steroid passport by the end of 2013
The World Anti-Doping Agency will introduce a new steroid passport program aimed at catching drug cheats in sports by the end of 2013. WADA President John Fahey made the announcement on Monday at the International Olympic Committee's 125th session taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

A steroid passport would closely follow the model set by the biological passport already in place which monitors the blood of athletes and whether any changes are signs of doping.

WADA looks to stay ahead of the ever changing scene of performance enhancing drugs being created before they hit the mark. A conference in Johannesburg will take place in November to further address doping issues such as passing a four-year ban for first-time offenders and rules for coaches and trainers.
