Girls HS Individual Rankings - Week 2
Baxter still dominant and impressive early season wins shape the national leaderboard
*Editor's Note: The Saucony Elite 50 refers to the top-50 individual in the country (25 boys and 25 girls).
Sarah Baxter (CA) continued her winning streak and dominance over tough competition as she beat US#12 Marissa Williams by 23 seconds this weekend. Katie Rainsberger (CO) put down another fast time at altitude and Caroline Alcorta (VA) ran a very fast solo time at WakeMed to win the adidas Challenge. Taylor Werner (MO) last ran a week ago, but the time she put down as a sophomore was truly amazing. Therefore, she graces the cover this week as she moves to US#7 overall.
Ella Donaghu (OR) put down another impressive win at the Northwest Classic in Eugene, Oregon. Audrey Belf (MI) ran a very nice time at the Centerville Stampede to take her team to victory and earn a spot in the rankings and Tessa Barrett (PA) crushed a course record on a difficult course while sick. Lucy Biles (UT) also won big over US#22 Sarah Feeny (UT) this weekend to run her way into the rankings as well.
Stay tuned for another exciting week of XC coming this week and of course each week as we bring you the Saucony Elite 50 Individual Girls every Monday morning!
