Renaud Lavillenie
is finally the pole vault world record holder.

In Donetsk, Ukraine, the reigning World Indoor and Olympic pole vault champion soared over 6.16m on his first attempt, breaking Sergey Bubka's mark of 6.15m from 1993.

Lavillenie's 2014 indoor season has already seen some all-time marks, but breaking this 21-year-old record is simply incredible. Earlier this season in Bydgoszcz, Poland at the Pedro's Cup, Lavillenie attempted the world record three times and failed. Today, on his first vault, he was clear.

Below are the top 16 all-time indoor marks in the pole vault, courtesy of alltime-athletics.com.
