Flotrack news and links for February 20th, 2014
Happy Thursday Flotrack! My apologies for being gone for the last few days. Ironically, I was gone during perhaps the busiest weekend of the season and couldn't report the news. It begs the question, "If running news happens and Coffee Talk isn't there to tell you, did it really happen?"

The Unsung Glory of the Mile Run - The Atlantic
Do not stand at Alan Webb's career and weep
It is not there. It does not sleep.
It is a ten thousand meter hike.
It is the diamond colored quarter-inch spike.
It is the sunlight rising during the long run.
It is the gentle sound of the starting gun.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
It is the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
It is the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at Webb's career and cry;
It is not there. It did not die.

London Olympics cost Kenyans $2.7 million - Standard Media
With all of the doping allegations, tax evasion, and general corruption coming out of Kenya, I couldn't imagine that some of the money went into the pocket's of political officials athletes.
