Efraimson considering turning pro
High school superstar Alexa Efraimson is considering an early professional running career, according to Marc Bloom of Running Times.

After running 4:07.05 in the women’s professional 1,500-meters, which was the second fastest 1,500-meter ever run in high school history, the Camas High School junior was asked by reporters whether she was considering turning professional.

“Yeah, it’s an option,” Efraimson replied. “I’ll see how I do at the U.S. seniors. I just want to keep my options open.”

The 17-year-old’s next race is the Brooks PR Invitational 800-meters on June 21st before stepping back up the 1,500-meters at the U.S. Championships, where she’s most likely go up against high school senior Mary Cain. The two are also expected to compete at the IAAF World Junior Trials in Eugene, OR.
