Analysis:
That good-old-faithful Seminole Wind blew in two outstanding transfers and a quality freshman to propel Coach Bob Braman back into the national picture. Not making the trip to nationals last year no doubt pained Coach Bramen considerably. With the crew he has assembled for this fall, it should not be a problem in 2014.

Starting with the very talented Zac Seddon (8:34 3k steeple), and returning Aussie sophomore, Glen Yarham (29:15 10k), Braman has leadership galore. Yarham has tons of cross experience, including being the U-20 Australian cross country champion, and also having run in the World Junior Cross and the World University Games championships. Seddon has been a bit up and down on grass, but his steeple performances speak well for a good fall for him.

Now we get to the exciting part for the boys from Tallahassee. Braman managed to land British 5k standout, Jack Goodwin, who has a 14:03 to his credit. If he can extend that effort two-fold, he will be a prominent factor for the Seminoles.

Princeton transfer Tyler Udland should be the leader of this pack. He has 28:57 10k talent on the track and a very impressive 47th in last year’s NCAA meet. The former Tiger is a very nice pickup for Braman. It is not easy to land 5th year Ivy leaguers like Udland.

For a 5th, this team will most likely rely on Bryant Blahnik, a solid runner with a 14:18 5k on the track. He will be pushed by a very good freshman, Michael Hall, from St. Xavier, Connecticut, where he ran 4:08 for 1600m and was 15th in the NXN meet. If he can make the successful transfer to 10k in his first year, he will be a nice backup should one of the projected five struggle or DNF in the regional meet, or even Terre Haute.

Florida State men have been over shadowed by their woman’s team for a while. This is a team that wants to make a statement of their own and they are talking tough in Tallahassee.
