FL Champ Rohrer Chooses Notre Dame

Two-time Foot Locker champion Anna Rohrer has made her college decision. The Mishawaka (IN) High senior announced today that she will attend the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana next fall, choosing to stay close to home for the next four years of her competitive career. Mishawaka is just a short 15 minute drive from Notre Dame’s campus.

Rohrer was the most highly touted recruit in the 2015 class. In 2012, Rohrer won the Foot Locker XC Championships as a sophomore, and became just the second person to win two titles in non-consecutive years by dominating this past December with a final time of 17:13 on the 5k course. Rohrer was forced to miss 2013 with multiple stress fractures.

Rohrer joins a Fighting Irish squad that placed 29th at the NCAA D1 XC Championships last fall. Coach Matt Sparks' team loses three of their top four scorers from last season, but returns All-American Molly Seidel after she placed 19th in Terre Haute. The addition of Rohrer gives Coach Sparks a new low-stick up front with Seidel to make the Irish ladies more formidable in 2015.
