IAAF Approves Rio 2016 Olympic Standards




The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) approved standards for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games at the world governing body’s council meeting in Beijing, according to IAAF.org
 
According to the council meeting report, 10 presentations were delivered by IAAF committees and commissions, including entry standards for the 2016 Olympics and IAAF World Indoor Championships
 
The 2016 World Indoor Championships will be held in Portland, Oregon at the Oregon Convention Center. The dates of competition are March 18-20, 2016, and mark the second international championship ever held on U.S. soil. The first images of the World Indoors track were revealed at a press conference in Portland on March 16. 
 
The 2016 IAAF Diamond League, IAAF Cross Country Permit, and IAAF Indoor Permit calendars were also approved.
