Yesterday Andrew Wheating won the 1500m finals, one of the most anticipated events of the Pan American Games. The 27-year-old held off some fierce kicking in the last 120m, contested by the Canadians Nathan Brannen and Charles Philbert-Thiboutot to win in a time of 3:41.41. Wheating's seasonal best of 2015 comes from March, where he ran 3:38.75 at the Sydney Track Classic. Prior to Pan Ams, he finished fifth at the USA Championships. 

Needless to say, Wheating was thrilled with his performance.

, the other American in the field finished in seventh place with a time of 3:43.60.

Canadian Andre De Grasse also added another medal to his collection, wining the 200m finals in a national record time of 19.88. This is also a new PB for the 20-year-old. 

Americans Ashley Higinson and Shalaya Kipp went 1-2 in the women's steeplechase finishing in 9:48.12 and 9:49.96, respectively.

2015 110m hurdle champion David Oliver came away victorious in his respective event in a time of 13.07. While it wasn't a season best
