Analysis:

The Southern Methodist women have a chance to challenge Arkansas in the South Central region this fall. The Hogs fell to several graduation losses and will be heavily relying on Dominique Scott, a perfect opportunity for SMU’s top 5 to make some noise behind Scott.

Agnes Sjostrom was really good at the Notre Dame Invite in 2014. She was runner-up to New Mexico’s Charlotte Arter and followed it up with a 33rd place showing at the Wisconsin Invite. However, She was the lone SMU lady at the NCAA Championships and finished 101st. Not a great day and a little bit of a disappointment after starting the season so strong. Behind Sjostrom, Coach Cathy Casey has an experienced team of seniors leading the charge. Karoline Skatteboe had a big spring, improving by great amounts in the 5K and 3K steeple. She’ll need to really drop time on the grass this fall, but her outdoor progression indicates a lot of improvement.

Newcomers Justine Anthony from the U.K. and Anneke Grogan from New Zealand should help the squad out. They are already coming in with a wealth of cross country experience and should provide more depth for the Mustangs.
