Eric Jenkins Joins Nike Oregon Project
Today former Oregon Duck Eric Jenkins announced on instagram he has decided to join the Nike Oregon Project. Jenkins will become the 10th athlete currently training under Alberto Salazar. Jenkins will also be the youngest male on NOP's now growing roster with the addition of Japan's Suguru Osako this past spring.
We reached out the Jenkins on his decision:
What was the ultimate reason you chose NOP?"In the end I think that the ultimate reason is because I think this transition would be the easiest for me. And is a situation I feel I can be successful in."
How did the allegations affect your decision?
"The doping allegations definitely made the decision more complicated and difficult but after Alberto's statement I feel much better."
Have you had a chance to chat with your new teammates?
"I've talked to Galen a couple days ago and I'm friends with Centro but other than that not really."
You still staying fresh?
"Of course. I'm staying fresh"
