Former ZAP Fitness Runner Dies After Being Hit By Car

Cameron Bean, formerly of the professional running team ZAP Fitness, was hit by a car while running on Saturday evening in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and died on Monday as a result of his injuries. He was 28.

Bean was a ZAP Fitness team member from 2010-2015, during which he set his 8:32 3,000m steeplechase PR and qualified for the 2013 USATF Outdoor Championship final in the event. A 2010 graduate of Samford University in Alabama, Bean resided in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. 


According to WTVC News in Chattanooga, the driver of the car told police that the sun was in her eyes and that she did not see Bean.
