FULL ENTRIES HERE and FINAL SCHEDULE
We're kicking off our 2016 indoor action at the University of Washington Dempsey Indoor Track this Saturday at the Washington Preview! Top Pac-12 schools Oregon, Stanford, USC and Washington will be there, along with a strong contingent of professionals making their indoor season debuts. You can watch Brianne Theisen-Eaton in the 400m, UW All American Izaic Yorks in the 1000m, Oiselle/Nor Cal Distance athletes Kate Grace and Lauren Wallace in the 3000m and MORE! Events are slated to begin on Saturday at 11:30am CT, but be sure to plan your days around the CAN'T MISS EVENTS below!
Women’s 60m Dash, Finals: 2:30pm CT
Oregon’s Jasmine Todd and USC’s Ky Westbrook are arguably the fastest short sprinters in the NCAA this season and are opening up in the 60m. Let’s take you back to their record-setting 2015 performance:
The former Chandler High School (Arizona) graduates are Pac-12 rivals now, and finished second (Westbrook) and third (Todd) in the NCAA 60m last March. Both of their PBs in this event are from the 2015 UW Preview, with Todd gaining on Westbrook over the final 30m to finish in 7.15, Westbrook 7.18.
After her monster 2015 post season (that ended in a World Championship SILVER MEDAL) we’re giving Todd the slight edge over Westbrook. But this is sure to be one of the best match-ups of the Preview!
Women’s 600m, 3:56pm CT
Three of the NCAA’s youngest stars will toe the line in the ultimate test of strength and speed. The 600m contest, hated by 400m runners and embraced by the half milers, will pit 2015 NCAA Outdoor 800m Champ Raevyn Rogers against her new teammate and former Ole Miss SEC Champion Brooke Feldmeier against Stanford’s Olivia Baker. All three were just true freshman in 2015.
Baker won this event last year (1:29.42), taking out Rogers (1:29.87) and Mary Cain (1:30.03) in the process.
When you add Feldmeier and 2:00 800m pro McKayla Fricker into the mix, this may be the hottest event at the Dempsey all day. Fricker, a former DII NCAA Champ, trained with Alexa Efraimson last season. Her Twitter suggests she's now working out with the High Performance West team.
