What You Missed This Past Weekend On The Track
With the IAAF World Indoor Championships going on this past weekend, it was easy to get distracted from watching other events around the country. Here is a run-down of some notable performances that we missed while we were all watching World Indoors.

Black & Gold Challenge:
Saucony’s Duane Solomon opened up his outdoor campaign with a solo 1:46.45 800m run.

TCU Invitational:
Fresh off his 60m title, TCU’s Ronnie Baker opened up his outdoor season with a wind-aided 9.95 (+2.7 m/s) 100m dash.

Baldy Castillo Invitational:
Texas A&M ran 7:21.43 in the 4x800m with Donavan Brazier (1:50.6 split) on the second leg. Judging from his performance, it looks like the injury that caused Brazier to pull out of the NCAA 800m prelims did not hinder him too much. Hector Hernandez anchored with a 1:47.9 split. Also, Texas A&M’s Maggie Malone is now the No. 3 NCAA performer all-time in the javelin throw with a toss of 60.36m.

Willie Williams Classic:
Fresh off of their NCAA team titles, the Oregon Ducks got some outdoor rust busters in. Raevyn Rogers ran 52.30 in the 400m, Annie LeBlanc ran 2:04.38 in the 800m and Devon Allen ran 13.40 (-1.2 m/s) in the 110m hurdles.

Great Oak vs Vista Murrieta Dual Meet:
USC commit Michael Norman opened up his outdoor season with a quick wind-aided 20.41 200m dash.

Trojan Invitational:
Led by Aaron Fletcher's 8:52.15 performance, three BYU men ran sub 9:00 3K steeplechases.

Alabama Relays:
Ole Miss's Raven Saunders returned from her disappointing NCAA finish to throw the shot put 18.75m, which is good for the No. 6 performance all-time in season. Also, Southern Illinois’ DeAnna Price is now the No. 3 NCAA performer all-time in the hammer throw with a toss of 72.19m.

Philadelphia College Classic:
Penn’s Sam Mattis threw 67.45m in the discus throw, which is good for No. 2 all-time in the NCAA.

ISSA Boys & Girls Championships:
The best high school Jamaicans competed as well. And it was quick!
