From May 13-14, FloTrack will provide an ALL-ACCESS, LIVE stream of the brand-new adidas BOOST Athletics Meeting, which showcases some of the best track and field athletes from around the world. Here are four reasons to watch the adidas BOOST Athletics Meeting LIVE, starting Friday:
1. It’s the European Payton Jordan Invitational
The meet was created solely to provide a race setting that fosters elite competition and fast times. This weekend's inaugural edition will feature Olympic silver medalist Yohan Blake, Olympic champion Meseret Defar and world bronze medalist Tori Bowie. For all Europe-based athletes, the BOOST Athletics Meeting is an opportunity to hit Olympic-qualifying marks in Central Europe, which saves them the hassle of traveling thousands of miles to run fast.
2. It’s Going Down at adidas Global HQ in Germany
The meet will take place on Friday at 11AM CT in the Adi Dassler Stadium in Herzogenaurach, Germany — the birthplace of adidas. The meet will continue to be held on the adidas campus for years to come.
3. Yohan Blake Looks to Improve on 9.95 100m Season’s Best
Usain Bolt's protege clocked a world-leading time of 9.95 in Kingston, Jamaica, just a few weeks ago, and is preparing to run even faster on Friday. Blake is returning from a 2012 Olympic year that included silver medals in the 100m and 200m.
4. Meseret Defar Will Challenge the 30-Minute 10K Barrier
Defar is one of the few women who have ever dipped under 30 minutes in the 10K. This weekend, she will challenge her personal-best mark of 29:59 in a bid for selection to the Rio Olympics for Ethiopia. With two Olympic golds, two world championships, and four world indoor titles to her name, Defar is poised to put on a show over 25 laps.
Watch Defar react after running a blazing-fast 8:30 in the indoor 3K last February:
