We developed a formula to rank the top 25 athletes in NCAA Division I track and field based on who will make the most impact at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. FloTrack's Week 8 Power Rankings have some big changes.
After not updating the rankings since week 6 and the release of the official NCAA entries, there have been many changes to the top 25 on both the men's and women's sides. On the men's side we see the rise of LSU's star sprinter Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake who recently threw down an impressive 19.95 at the SEC Championships. On the women's side Arkansas' Dominique Scott moved up to #1 after Kansas State's Akela Jones dropped in the rankings due to scratching individual events to focus on the heptathlon.
