Taleah Casurra of Impact Athletics entered the AAU Region 8 meet as the favorite to sweep the 800m, 1500m and 3K, and boy, did she deliver.
The queen of the 11-year-old age group distance races outpaced her opponents with marks of 2:26.47 for 800m, 5:12.16 for 1500m and 11:13.28 for 3K. Only in the 800m was an opponent able to finish within 10 seconds, as Mackayla Hunter of Elite Speed Youth TC ran 2:35.97 for runner-up honors.
