For the first time since 2000, gambling on the Olympics is legal in the United States. We took the best odds available for each athlete on gambling aggregator Oddschecker, and have quick takes on a few events below.
Note: there are odds available for several athletes that did not qualify in their events. While you can still place those very dumb bets, we tried our best to remove those athletes from this post.
Quick take: Bolt is even more unbeatable in the 200m than he is in the 100m, but 200m world leader LaShawn Merritt at 10/1 is pretty appealing.
Quick take: Considering Rudisha was third at the Kenyan Trials and didn't crack the top three in either of his two Diamond League races, everyone else at 17/2 or longer is kind of spicy.
Quick take: Ezekiel Kemboi is the four-time defending world champion and the defending Olympic champion and only 21/10 to win this race!
Quick take: Cuban exile Orlando Ortega received last-minute approval to compete for Spain in Rio. He and Devon Allen both have season bests within 0.06 seconds of McLeod's.
Quick take: Don't take the bait and bet on the U.S. at 2/1. They will screw it up somehow.
