Three Events To Watch at the 2017 Fastrack National Invitational
The 2017 Fastrack National Invitational will be LIVE tomorrow (Friday Feb 10th) on FloTrack! Here are three of the top races to look out for at Ocean Breeze.
When: 6:00pm EST
Who: Chartt Miller, James Gowans
Why: Cornell senior James Gowans made the NCAA mile final last year. After two rust-buster races in January, look for this race to be his NCAA qualifying mile time in 2017. Meanwhile, Iona's Chartt Miller is coming off a season opener 8:08 3K at BU. Miller has never broken 4:00 in an Iona uniform. His 4:00.99 PB is from 2014. This maybe the year he finally breaks through.
When: 7:05pm EST
Who: Chris Sanders
Why: La Salle's Chris Sanders had a surprise outdoor season last year running 1:46 and finishing sixth at the NCAA Championships. Sanders has never qualified for the indoor championships. He will look to throw down a qualifying mark this weekend in his 800m season debut.
When: 7:40pm EST
Who: Ashley Montgomery, Christina Melian
Why: Penn's Ashley Montgomery placed 13th at the NCAA cross country championships and will look to continue that momentum on the track this year. She will race Stony Brook's Christina Melian in the 3K this weekend. Melian has strong 3K/5K PBs of 9:17/15:48 and will hopefully be able to put up a fast pace for Montgomery to ride to a potential sub 9:10 finish.
