USATF's 2017 World Relays athlete selection process was extremely straight forward this year. Invitations were given to athletes based on a certain priority laid out on their website.

4x100 Selection: (maximum 6 athletes)

1st Priority: 2016 4x100m Olympic Relay Pool Athletes and top two finishers at the 2017 USATF indoor championships (60m & 300m)
2nd Priority: Descending order list of 2016 outdoor 100m performances

4x200 Selection: (minimum 4 athletes)

1st Priority: 2016 200m Olympic Team and top two finishers at the 2017 USATF indoor championships (300m)
2nd Priority: Descending order list of 2016 outdoor 200m performances

4x400 Selection: (minimum 6 athletes)

1st Priority: 2016 4x400m Olympic Relay Pool Athletes and top two finishers at the 2017 USATF indoor championships (300m & 600m)
2nd Priority: Descending order list of 2016 outdoor 400m performances

4x800 Selection: (maximum 5 athletes)

1st Priority: 2016 800m Olympic Team and top two finishers at the 2017 USATF indoor championships (600m & 1000m)
2nd Priority: Descending order list of 2016 outdoor 800m performances

USATF announced their 2017 World Relays roster today. Based on USATF's guidelines here is who did not accept their invitations and those who most likely declined due to being in college.

It's important to note athletes do not accept invitations for various reasons (training block, injury, race schedule, etc.)
