Aries Merritt Advances To 110m Hurdles Final

World record holder Aries Merritt will be the lone American in the 110m hurdles final.

Aries Merritt Advances To 110m Hurdles Final
World record holder Aries Merritt is the lone American to advance to the 110m hurdles final tomorrow afternoon at the IAAF World Championships in London, placing second in his heat in 13.25 to Balazs Baji of Hungary. Aleec Harris, the U.S. champion, was sixth in the first heat with a time of 13.40 and Devon Allen, who recovered from ACL surgery this year to qualify for the world team, placed third in the second heat in 13.27 in a photo finish behind auto qualifiers Shane Brathwaite of Barbados and Hansle Parchment of Jamaica.

Defending Olympic champion Omar McLeod of Jamaica led all qualifiers with a 13.10 effort.
