The Jamaican hurdler threw down a winning time of 13.04 to win the world championship crown less than a year after claiming Olympic gold in Rio. Sergey Shubenkov of Russia finished behind him for silver (13.14) and Balazs Baji of Hungary claimed bronze (13.28).
The lone American in the field, Aries Merritt, secured a fifth-place finish. The performance marked an impressive comeback from a kidney surgery which took place less than two years ago.
