Amanda Gehrich, a two-time California state champion for the 1600m, is transferring within the Pac-12 from the University of Utah to the University of Oregon.

The sophomore's instagram bio currently reads "University of Oregon Track & Field."

Her most recent photo is an image of herself running, geotagged to Jeremy Ranch in Utah. The caption reads "Last run at good 'ole J-Ranch'; several current Ducks commented on the photo, including Kate Murphy and Carmela Cardema-Baez — herself a 2017 transfer from Florida State — who wrote, "Just a duck getting it done in the snow! Welcome to the fam."

Gehrich is the second middle distance runner to transfer to Oregon since the end of the cross country season; 2:03 800m runner Ruby Stauber announced her move from LSU to Eugene last week.

The college sophomore was one of the top middle distance recruits in the class of 2016 and owned the nation's fastest high school girls 1600m time that spring, 4:41.39 — though she actually clocked 4:39.33 as a high school junior. She was runner-up at the 2016 Brooks PR Invitational mile and third in the 2015 adidas Dream Mile.

At Utah, Gehrich ran college bests of 2:11.21 for 800m, 4:22.78 for 1500m, and 4:47.45 for the mile. She was fifth in the 1500m final at the 2016 Pac-12 Outdoor Championships. This fall, Gehrich placed 35th at the Pac-12 XC championships and 26th at the NCAA Division I Mountain Regional for the Utes.

She will likely have to sit out from competition this spring because she is transferring within the conference.
