Canadian Olympian and former 10K national record holder Cam Levins has signed with HOKA ONE ONE, the French brand announced via a press release on Monday morning.

Levins, formerly of the Nike Oregon Project, is the brand's first Canadian athlete.

The 28-year-old was dropped by Nike and left the Portland-based training group this summer to work with his college coach, Eric Houle of Southern Utah, who guided him to NCAA titles in the 10K and 5K and Olympic berths in both events in 2012. Canadian Running Magazine notes that he still resides in Portland.

Levins will compete at the Houston Half Marathon this Sunday.

Levins has struggled with injury since breaking the 10K national record in 2015. He had surgery on his foot after failing to make the 2016 Olympic team but raced several times in 2017, including a win at the road 5K national championship.

HOKA also announced the signing of ultramarathon runners Ellie Greenwood, Andrea Huser, and Kris Brown, as well as track athletes Megan Mansy, Danielle Aragon, and Rob Napolitano, who will train with the New Jersey*New York Track Club.
