After Monday’s race in Boston, it’s hard to feel confident about anything in the marathon world. But the weather across the pond looks much more manageable for Sunday’s 2018 London Marathon. 

Deep fields feature some of the biggest names in marathoning, and with talk of a world record attempt both the men’s and women’s competitions should be fantastic battles. Here are five confidence picks for Sunday’s race.

• Eliud Kipchoge continues his reign in the men’s marathon, notching another World Marathon Major victory. 

• Despite the use of male pacers, Paula Radcliffe’s world record lives to see another day.  

• Kenenisa Bekele isn’t able to beat Eliud Kipchoge, but does finish in the top three.
