Analysis:
The Wisconsin women return six of their top-seven from last year’s 10th place finish. Most notably, Alicia Monson who despite finishing 139th last year should be the Badgers’ low stick after a breakout track season running a 15:38 5k. Behind Monson, the Badgers will be led by veterans Amy Davis and Shaelyn Sorensen who both finished in the top-60 last season.
New to the Badgers will be freshmen Hannah Reale and Madison Mooney who have run strong mile/1500 times while in high school, a 4:26 1500 for Reale and a 4:47 mile for Mooney. The Badgers will be an exciting team to watch in 2018 as they get the unique opportunity to race on their home course at NCAAs this fall.
