The 35-year-old Webb, who competed in the 2004 Olympic Games in the 1,500m and set the American record in the mile (3:46.91) in 2007, begins his second stint at PSU as a volunteer assistant, as he previously helped the Vikings during the 2013 season. He also served in a similar role at the University of Virginia in 2011 while training under then-UVA head coach Jason Vigilante.
Webb has expressed interest in becoming a college coach and has worked with the online coaching platform, RunDoyen. According to Ken Goe at the Oregonian, Webb has recently been coaching former Olympian Anthony Famiglietti through the platform.
