The 2019 U.S. champion, a little off-center while closing toward the finish, clobbered the penultimate barrier and also took down his neighbor's hurdle, which belonged to South Africa's Ruan De Vries, in lane three with his trail leg.
ANOTHER disqualification. Daniel Roberts. His trail leg hit De Vries’ hurdle.

The US can appeal, I don’t think they will but, but it definitely won’t be successfull this time...#WorldAthleticsChamps pic.twitter.com/KYISSh7iaU
Although Roberts can appeal, the likelihood of the ruling being overturned is low. Disqualifications can occur when a hurdler significantly interferes with any hurdle other than their own, or when a hurdler impedes another hurdler, and this could qualify as both.
South African guy on the inside of Daniel Roberts was so focused that he still hurdled an imaginary hurdle after his became knocked down by Roberts. #WorldAthleticsChamps pic.twitter.com/PFWWY0qZ6w

Roberts crossed the line in 13.38 despite making heavy contact with hurdle nine.
At the end of a 110m hurdles season defined by Grant Holloway vs. Daniels Roberts, many were looking forward to seeing the year's final edition of what will surely become a classic matchup end in Doha with both of them on the podium. Roberts' PR, 13-flat, ranks second in the world this year to Holloway's 12.98 PR; both were set in their thrilling NCAA Championships final in June.
Roberts more recently won a major title at the USATF Outdoor Championships, where Holloway finished runner-up.
