9) Todd Lane (LSU)
Scored 37 total points in the men’s jumping events during the indoor and outdoor championships.
8) Justin St. Clair (North Dakota State)
Scored 33 total points in the men’s throwing events during the indoor and outdoor championships.
7) Joe Franklin (New Mexico)
Scored 50 total points in the women’s distance events during the indoor and outdoor championships. Including two individual national titles for Weini Kelati (10k, xc) and a team podium finish at the xc championships.
6) Wes Kittley (Texas Tech)
Led the Red Raiders to their first ever men’s outdoor team title in school history.
5) Leroy Burrell (Houston)
Scored 68 total points in the men’s sprint/hurdles disciplines during the indoor and outdoor championships.
4) Mike Holloway (Florida)
Coached one of the greatest NCAA hurdler of all-time Grant Holloway, who went on to win a world title in the 110m hurdles. He also scored 79 total points in the men’s sprint/hurdles disciplines during the indoor and outdoor championships.
3) Caryl Smith Gilbert (USC)
Scored 108 total points in the women’s sprint/hurdles disciplines during the indoor and outdoor championships.
2) Ed Eyestone (BYU)
Led the BYU men’s distance program to an upset victory over NAU this past cross country season. As well as scoring a combined 43 men’s distance points during the indoor and outdoor track seasons including a 10k victory by Clayton Young.
1) Lance Harter (Arkansas)
Led the Arkansas women’s program to a calendar sweep winning the indoor, outdoor and cross country team titles in the same year.
