FloSports To Stream Virgin Money London Marathon In North America/Australia
The Virgin Money London Marathon will be streamed exclusively on FloSports in North America and Australia beginning in 2021.
AUSTIN, Texas (August 26th) - FloSports, a leader in sports streaming and original content, will broadcast the Virgin Money London Marathon in North America and Australia starting in 2021. The iconic international race will be exclusively streamed on FloTrack, FloSports’ dedicated track & field/cross country platform, in the US, Canada and Australia.
The London Marathon, first staged in 1981, is one of the world’s leading and most-watched marathons with more than 40,000 professional and amateur participants. FloSports’ live feed of the 2021 event will feature the men’s and women’s races and will provide comprehensive coverage throughout the duration of the marathon. FloSports has partnered with Virgin Money London Marathon’s media rights distributor, TCB Sport Media, to bring the race to international audiences in North America and Australia. The partnership also includes the 2021 Great Manchester and Great North Runs which will be available live to North American and Australian subscribers.
Creating a richer viewing experience for fans of the Virgin Money London Marathon, FloSports will also provide original content and other programming in support of this year’s race. The Virgin Money London Marathon is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, a series of the six largest/most prestigious marathons in the world. Traditionally held annually in April, this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 3. Subscribers will also be treated to two of Europe’s most exciting races including the Great North Run (September 12) and the Great Manchester Run (September 22).

The London Marathon was first held on 29 March 1981 and the millionth finisher in the history of the event crossed the line in 2016.
The 40th Race took place on Sunday 4 October 2020 with elite races on a biosecure closed-loop circuit around St James's Park and a world record 39,766 runners around the world running the virtual Virgin Money London Marathon on the course of their choice any time from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 BST. Participants were able to download the Virgin Money London Marathon app powered by TCS to record their run. All finishers received a New Balance finisher's t-shirt and medal.
In 2019 the Virgin Money London Marathon raised £66.4 million for charity, setting a new Guinness World Record for an annual one-day charity fundraising event for a 13th successive year. This brought the total raised for charity since 1981 to more than £1 billion.
