On Athletics Club To Race Newbury Park In Penn Relays 4xMile
Philadelphia, Pa. – March 15th, 2022 – Coach Dathan Ritzenhein and the On Athletics Club are calling the world's best milers to compete in the historic 4 x Mile race at the 2022 Penn Relays in historic Franklin Field. The OAC Men's 4 x Mile will be in the Olympic Development category and will take place during the Penn Relays on Friday, April 29 at 8:30PM EST.

The OAC aims to set a new World Best, while a team from Ireland prepares to better the existing Irish World Record of 15.49.08 set in Dublin in 1985. Additionally, the acclaimed team from Newbury Park, California will attempt to rewrite the record books.
“In this first year of On sponsoring the Penn Relays, I’m so excited to bring our OAC men to chase the World’s Best in the 4xMile,” said Dathan Ritzenhein, the coach of the OAC. “Penn Relays has such a storied tradition, and I can’t wait for the team to be a part of relaunching it after the last two years.”

About The Penn Relays
The Penn Relays is part of the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Pennsylvania which is a broad-based division comprising 33 intercollegiate teams, 35 club sport teams, and expansive intramural sport and campus recreation programs, all taking place within 22 athletics and recreational facilities. The facilities are contained within a contiguous 24-acre footprint at the eastern end of campus, commonly thought to be one of the best athletics infrastructures among urban campuses, with assets such as Franklin Field, the Palestra, and Penn Park. The Penn Relays, the oldest and largest relay competition held in the US, typically attracts more than 15,000 competitors and 110,000 spectators each spring during the last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in April.
