Williams unleashed a powerful kick to overtake Junior Daya Ross of Wren High School. She crossed the finish line in 18:52.62, narrowly beating Ross, who finished at 18:54.63. Williams' victory capped off a hard-fought race, earning her the coveted state championship title.
