The 9th Girl's Nike Cross Country National Championships features two types of bets. If you were trying to make a quick buck and double down, we’d say you should put your money on the Fayetteville-Manlius girls to win the team title. The individual race has us thinking about going all in, then reconsider for a minute that we may lose our life savings, and pull our chips from the pot. Sarah Baxter is one the greatest cross country runners of all-time, but could she lose at her own game?

It’s championship season, baby! All eyes turn towards Portland Meadows in Portland, OR for the 9th Nike Cross Country National Championships. The boy’s race has a lot of similar story lines from last year with some minor differences. Since this is the ninth running of NXN, we’ll predict the top nine individual and team finishes.
The Fayetteville-Manlius dynasty is going for an unprecedented seventh straight NXN team title. Since 2004, FM has dominated cross country in New York and extended their reign to the national scene in 2006.

It’ll be a battle of record holders, undefeated high school greats, and two opposites at Nike Cross Nationals. Simi Valley junior and defending NXN champion Sarah Baxter will try to become the first harrier ever to uphold the NXN title. In her way, stands the greatest girls' metric miler of all-time, Bronxville junior Mary Cain.
