Lawi Lalang learning to compete quickly
Part 2 of 2: Lawi Lalang came to the United States having only run a couple time trials Kenya, but no real competitions. During his first organized season at the University of Arizona last indoor season Lawi ran sub-4 minutes in the mile and qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 3k. In outdoor track Lawi came into his own and challenged Sam Chelanga for the NCAA 5k title running 13:31 as a freshman and quickly become on of the best running in the NCAA. Lawi talks about this quick transition, his racing style and competitors in the NCAA he views as the toughest competitors.
