Russell Brown doesn't advance to 1500 final with achilles injury at 2012 US Olympic Trials
Russell Brown came into the Olympic Trials as one of only two athletes in the field that had run under 3:35 this year and had high hopes of making his first Olympic Team. Call it bad luck, ten days about Brown was hammered with an achilles injury that he thought was under control. After the opening round of the 1500 Brown felt the injury again but chose to line up for the semi finals to give himself a shot. Russell missed qualifying for the final and was visibly in pain in the second half of the race. Although there was no fairy tale ending, Brown let me himself dream and imagine making an Olympic which is something he never let himself due in the past.
