Emma Bates gets the win in Terre Haute, hoping for another one at NCAAs

After a stellar NCAA Outdoor Championship where she took third in the 10k and seventh in the 5k, you would think that Emma Bates would be riding high this cross country season. But after some disappointments in the past, Bates didn't quite believe in herself this fall - until today. A huge kick and a win at Pre-Nationals is a huge confidence booster for the redshirt junior, who now turns her attention to NCAAs and a possible individual title. It'll take something special to challenge the big favorite Abbey D'Agostino, but when Bates makes her potential return to Terre Haute, her mentality may be different.
