USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships 2023 results and live updates.
The women's and men's 100m finals highlight the second day of action at the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships. Sha'Carri Richardson's world-leading 10.71 in the first round created plenty of buzz about what she can do in the semis and finals.
In the men's 100m, Christian Coleman was the top qualifier and the only man to break ten seconds in the opening round.
Friday also features the first round of the men's and women's 400m hurdles, the opening round of the women's 100m hurdles, the semifinals of the men's and women's 800m, semifinals of the men's and women's 400m, the conclusion of the decathlon and heptathlon and finals in the women's high jump and men's triple jump.

Day 2 Updates
Heptathlon
Anna Hall dominated the competition, scoring 6677 points and winning by over 300 points. Hall scored big in the high hurdles (13.08, 1112 points), high jump (1.87m, 1067 points) and 200m (23.45, 1034 points). She closed it out with a run of 2:10.91 in the 800m.
Taliyah Brooks took second with 6319 points and Chari Hawkins placed third with 6053 points. Annie Kunz was just four points back of Hawkins in fourth place.

Women's 100m Hurdles
The first heat was flying with Keni Harrison (12.50), Nia Ali (12.53) and Tonea Marshall (12.58) running three of the four fastest times. Tia Jones won the second heat in 12.56, while Alaysha Johnson took the third heat in 12.60.

Rai Benjamin was on cruise control, easily winning his heat in 49.05. CJ Allen and Khallifah Rosser ran the next two fastest times.

Dalilah Muhammad ran a season's best to turn in the fastest time of the day, 54.56. Shamier Little won her heat in 55.32 as did Anna Cockrell who ran 55.74.

Harrison Williams turned in a balanced performance to take the U.S. title with 8630 points. Zach Ziemek was second in 8508 and Austin West of Iowa grabbed the third spot piling up 8331 points. The big surprise came with Kyle Garland placing fourth with 8198 points.

Women's 100m Semis
Sha'Carri Richardson flew to victory in the first heat, clocking a 10.75 and looking very comfortable doing it. Aleia Hobbs, one of the top sprinters of the year, didn't qualify in seventh place.

Tamari Davis won heat two in 10.96 ahead of Tamara Clark's 10.98.
High schooler Mia Brahe-Pederson grabbed the final qualifying spot.

Men's 100m Semis
Christian Coleman dominated the first heat, getting his patented fast start and never looking back to win in 9.98. Heat two featured Noah Lyles chasing down Cravont Charleston at the line to win 9.94 to 9.96. Trayvon Bromell finished third in heat two with a time of 10.02.

Men's 800m Semis
Bryce Hoppel, Clayton Murphy and Isaiah Harries went 1-2-3 as expected in the first heat. In the second heat, Division II champion Wes Ferguson of Nebraska-Kearney crossed the line first in 1:46.82., but was later disqualified. Isaiah Jewett, Will Sumner and Derek Holdsworth took the three automatic qualifying spots after the DQ. Brandon Miller, who made the U.S. team last year, didn't qualify.

Women's 800m Semis
Two very balanced 800m heats produced eight women who ran between 2:00.02 and 2:00.85. Nia Akins won the first heat with Raevyn Rogers and Ajee Wilson comfortably earning the other two automatic qualifying spots.
In heat two, Michaela Rose went out hard in 57.67 and held on for the win. Her quick pace helped pull four other women to qualifiers in that heat. Juliette Whittaker of Stanford was in position to be one of those qualifiers, before falling just a few meters before the finish line.

Michaela Rose won her section in 2:00.39, but a late fall from Juliette Whittaker prevented the Stanford freshman from making the finals.

Vernon Norwood looked very good in the first heat, running 44.43 to lead all qualifiers. Bryce Deadmon, Ryan Willis and Quincy Hall rounded out the top four.

Donald Scott's fourth-round jump of 17.22m was enough to clinch the victory. It was a season best for Scott and enough to beat Will Claye (16.98m) and Chris Benard (16.68m).

Women's 400m Semis
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone looked VERY easy winning the first heat by well over a second. Her personal best of 49.51 looks like it will definitely go down in the final. In the second heat, Britton Wilson ran 50.59 to finish ahead of Talitha Diggs who ran 50.95.

Women's 100m Final
Sha’Carri Richardson left no doubt in the women’s 100m at the 2023 USATF Championships.
Richardson ran 10.82 seconds to win the 100m, her arms outstretched as she broke the finishing tape.
Brittany Brown ran 10.90 for second, Tamari Davis was third in 10.99. The three will make up the US team for the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Men's 100m Final
Cravont Charleston upset the field to take the U.S. title. Charleston ran 9.95 to edge Christian Coleman who ran 9.96. Noah Lyles, came on strong in the second half of the race and finished third in 10.00. It will be the first 100m national team for Lyles who is pursuing a 100m/200m double at the World Championships.
Brandon Carnes took fourth and JT Smith was fifth. Trayvon Bromell, last year's bronze medalist at the World Championships, placed sixth.

Women's High Jump
Vashti Cunningham won her sixth consecutive outdoor title with a clearance of 1.91m. Rylee Anderson and Jenna Rogers tied for second with 1.86m.

When Is The USATF Outdoor Championships 2023?
The meet begins on Thursday, July 6 and ends on Sunday, July 9. Events will begin at 2:25 p.m. EST on Thursday.
Where Is The USATF Outdoor Championships 2023?
For the third year in a row Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, on the campus of the University of Oregon, will host the event. The last location other than Oregon to host the event was Des Moines, Iowa in 2018 and 2019.
