Jette Beermann Pushes To Win Women's 5000M Competition At Penn Relays

Elon track and field star Jette Beermann hits another gear as she passes Washington's Ava Earl on the final turn of the College Women's 5000m Championship.

Jette Beermann cruised from second to first, passing Washington's Ava Earl, in a terrific College Women's 5000m Championship race at the 2024 Penn Relays. Beermann, a distance runner from Elon track and field, finished with a time of 15:42.30, while Earl finished second overall at 15:42.72.

Following Beermann and Earl were Sophia Toti (Penn State) at 15:44.89, Lilly Tuck (Providence) at 15:53.76 and Mary Brady (Georgia Tech) at 15:55.20.

Just a week ago, Jette Beermann broke her school record in the 1500m at the Wake Forest Invitational, with a time of 4:16.92. Beermann's teammates at Elon, Katie Blount and Maggie Springer, finished 22nd and 23rd overall.
