Cuthbertson Scores Fourth National High School Record In The DMR At NBNO

The streak continued for a North Carolina distance powerhouse on Sunday at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. 

It's one thing to own one national high school record -- but how about four?

Cuthbertson (NC) rewrote the record books yet again on Sunday in Philadelphia as Justine Preisano, Tatiana Blake, Stella Kermes and Charlotte Bell crossed the finish line in 11:20.44 at Franklin Field to take down Ventura's distance medley national high school record from April.

Over the last year, Cuthbertson has three other national records: indoors in the 4x800m, the DMR and in the 4xmile relay. 

At New Balance Nationals Outdoor, the quartet took control from start to finish and won the title by nearly 12 seconds over the previous national high school record-holders from California. 

Preisano started off with a 3:20.12 carry on the 1,200m leg. Blake sprinted to a 400m split of 57.86. Meanwhile, Kermes and Bell went 2:11 in the 800m and 4:41 in the 1,600m, respectively, to finish things off. 

Ventura finished second in 11:32.43 and Derby City AC went 11:34.34 for third.
