The 2025 BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational got off to a fast start with a full slate of men's races on Day 1, highlighted by a World Record in the 5,000m by 2024 Olympian Grant Fisher.

The achievement is Fisher's second World Record in as many weeks. Last Saturday (Feb 8), Fisher ran 7:22.91 to win the Millrose Games and set the 3,000m Indoor World Record.

Other notable performances on the day included a NCAA #3 All-Time mark in the 800m by Tinoda Matsatsa (1:45.21), Facility Record in the 1,000m by Luciano Fiore (2:16.74), an NCAA #3 All-Time mark in the 1,000m by Dan Watchke (2:17.77), 36 sub-4 minute miles, an NCAA Division II Record in the 3,000m by Romain Legendre (7:36.28), and a French National Record in the 5,000m by Jimmy Gressier (12:54.92).
