The event's historical value is partly due to its history. The meet is one of the oldest in the world and it's location, Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus, is one of the most famous tracks in the world.

How Do The Penn Relays Work?
- The 2025 Penn Relays are a three-day track and field event comprising various relay races, such as 4 x100m, 4 x 200m, 4 x 400m, and 4 x 800m.
- Many heat, hurdle, and long-distance races round out the track portion of the event.
- Field events include shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, high jump, triple jump, and pole vault.
- All winning teams will be rewarded with an Penn Relays Wheel.

- The 129th annual Penn Relays will be a three day event from April 24-26, 2025.
