The 128th Boston Marathon is underway in Massachusetts as runners from around the world compete in one of the most famous marathons of the year.

For 129 years, the Boston Marathon has been one of the biggest highlights of the marathon season. The historic race cuts through New England and ends in Copley Square. Here is the complete list of Boston Marathon winners.

The Tokyo Marathon opened the 2025 World Major Marathon season. On the men's side, Tadese Takele won in 2:03:23, achieving a personal best time by one second and earning his first World Major Marathon win. Takele had set his previous personal best (2:03:24) during a third place finish at the 2023 Berlin Marathon.

The 2025 Tokyo Marathon will officially in the rearview. Tadese Takele surprised the men's field with a late gutsy move to take the win in 2:03:23. On the women's side, Sutume Asefa Kebede ran a dominant race, leading wire-to-wire. She collected the win in 2:16:31.

The 2025 Tokyo Marathon is scheduled for March 1 at 7:00 PM ET. The Tokyo Marathon will kick-off the World Major Marathon season, and as expected, the field is filled with road running talent.

The 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon was history-making as Ruth Chepngetich broke the women's world record, running 2:09:56. In a Kipchoge-less, Assefa-less Olympic year, the winners had a chance to make their cases as the best marathoners in the world, an especially compelling proposition considering both Kipchoge and Assefa haven't been back to their winning ways this year. Ultimately, wins by Ethiopia's Tigist Ketema and Milkesa Mengesha went a long way in cementing their status as leaders this fall marathon season.
