Sharon Lokedi eyes first Olympic birth with big performance at 2024 Boston Marathon

Kenyan Sharon Lokedi (Under Armour), a Kansas University graduate and 2018 NCAA 10k Champion, has run only two marathons which 1st and 3rd place finishes at the 2022 and 2023 New York City Marathons, respectively. Lokedi will run her first Boston Marathon on Monday and will be aiming to a big performance to help herself earn her first Olympic birth for Kenya. She is on a short list of Kenyan women in consideration for the marathon team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Alongside Lokedi in the 2024 Boston Marathon will be countrywoman Helen Obiri, who is also looking for a spot on Kenya's marathon team in Paris.
