Greifinger's memo (start here).
Feb 23, 2012
This evening we were sent documents from David Greifinger, a lawyer that represents the Athlete Advisory Committee (AAC....not to be confused with the TFAA). From their website, it states that "the basic purpose of the AAC is to provide an athlete voice on all issues pertaining to track & field and all other disciplines. The AAC provides a unified voice for the athletes in regard to all aspects of USATF, including such items as time schedules for meets, staff selections, drug testing and competition rules." The documents were also distributed to other media outlets (Track and Field News has already posted these documents). The series of documents lays out a series of events and conversations between Greifinger, the AAC, the USATF and Larry James (legal rep of USATF). In one sentence, Greifinger's memo below goes over the agreement to rule enforcement that USATF made with the AAC/Greifinger (a verbal agreement, which seems silly especially now) and how the agreement was not honored. The memo shows what has happened since the incident and where things stand now. Here are links to the different "exhibit" pieces that were sent, including letters from Larry James, Doug Logan and agreements between USATF and Nike.
