Why Edward Cheserek Hasn't Won The Bowerman Yet

Edward Cheserek has now made two trips to the Bowerman Awards and he still has nothing to show for it. On Thursday night in San Antonio, college track and fieldÂ’s top honor once again passed over the King, this time in favor of Florida jump man Marquis Dendy.

Jenna Prandini, Marquis Dendy Win The Bowerman Award

With the eyes of the track world upon them, Jenna Prandini and Marquis Dendy each won the prestigious honor of the Bowerman Award Thursday night in San Antonio, Texas. After beating out Bowerman finalists Kendra Harrison, Demi Payne, Shawn Barber and Edward Cheserek, both Prandini and Dendy were honored for exhibiting a wide-range of accomplishments that led to the NCAA trophy.

Breaking Down the 2015 Bowerman Award Nominees

Tomorrow night is the 2015 Bowerman Awards, the Heisman Trophy of track and field's greatest men and women in the NCAA. With former winners such as Galen Rupp, Jenny Simpson and Ashton Eaton, it's not surprising to see the Bowerman winners go on to do great things in our sport. Four of the six finalists are already professional athletes and five competed for their respective countries at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing. Only two will be crowned victorious, however, and for that we look at the nominees.

NEW ORLEANS – The Bowerman Watch List Committee released its final Watch List before the NCAA first rounds, and eight out of the ten women on it are recent conference champions in their events.
